Firefighters were called out to a chimney fire at a property in Farway at around 8.16pm on Saturday (10 December).

The fire had spread to the roof.

Crews from Sidmouth, Colyton, Honiton, and Ottery St Mary fire stations attended.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "Four fire appliances attended a property fire where a chimney fire had spread to the roof.

"Crews arrived on scene and got to work with small tools, chimney gear, triple extension ladder and a thermal imaging camera.

"Crews were making steady progress stripping back the roof to expose the fire, with ladders in use."
