Colyford Goose Fayre will not take place this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, but medieval scarecrows will instead be on display around the village.

Organisers felt they could not risk people's health by staging the annual goose fayre, which has become a popular and crowded event in recent years.

Instead the medieval scarecrows will be on display in the village from the September 1 to 11.

Colyford clubs and societies will also be promoting their activities at Colyford Memorial Hall on September 11 from 10.30am to 3pm.

Scarecrow location maps will be available at the hall.

Organisers are planning for the Colyford Goose Fayre to return as normal on Saturday, September 24 2022.
