Emergency services were called to Axmouth harbour on Friday afternoon after two kayakers capsized.

Beer coastguards and Lyme Regis lifeboat crew were called to the scene at about 1pm after receiving reports that two kayakers had fallen overboard and were clinging on to the vessel.

This was the 25th call out of the year for the lifeboat crew, but on arrival the man and woman had already made their own way to shore safely.

The crew checked they were okay before standing down. Coastguards also met the couple to offer safety advice and ensure they had the right equipment.
