- Beach – 3/5- Attractions – 4/5
- Scenery – 5/5- Peace and Quiet – 5/5
- Value for Money – 4/5 Beer beat Llandudno in Conwy to the final top ten spot and lost out narrowly to number nine, Tynemouth in Tyne and Wear. Sidmouth came in 18th place, just behind Dungeness in Kent. Sidmouth's ratings, according to Which, were as follows:- Beach – 3/5
- Attractions – 3/5- Scenery – 5/5
- Peace and Quiet – 5/5- Value for Money - 4/5
A spokesperson for Which said: "A week away in the UK, with warm sun on your back and the splash of the sea at your feet, is just what we need right now to blow away the stuck-inside-for-too-long cobwebs.
"Fortunately this survey, conducted before coronavirus struck, saw you telling us that your favourite seaside destinations were those with a bit of space and some peace and quiet away from the crowds.
"Visitors named St Mawes, in Cornwall, the best place in the UK for a seaside break this year, handing it five stars for peace and quiet. Smaller town, such as Southwold, and less touristy villages, like Tynemouth, were rated better than classic favourites such as St Ives or Salcombe."
