Axminster and Colyton were called to a single car collision

Axminster and Colyton fire crews were called out to a person trapped in a car on Wednesday, December 28.

Th fire service was alerted of a single vehicle road traffic collision with a person reportedly trapped inside the car.

Once on scene, crews confirmed that the car had rolled over and was blocking the road, but rhe single occupant had managed to escape and was clear of the vehicle.

Crews got to work conducting casualty care whilst awaiting the ambulance service

Whilst this was ongoing, the crew stabilised the car using chocs and investigated to ensure there were no other persons involved.

They made entry to the vehicle using hydraulic cutting equipment and an electric saw to make sure there was no persons within the vehicle.

The car was then Isolated using small tools and re-writed to re-open one carriageway of the road.

Duty of care of the scene was left with the police.
