The Seaton, Beer and District branch of the RNLI will once again be supporting the life-saving charity's Mayday Appeal.

The branch will be hosting its annual Mayday Welly Walk on Seaton Esplanade on Sunday, May 21 and all are welcome to join in.

Registration will be open from 9.45am and the walk will set off from Fisherman's Gap at 10am – along the seafront to the end of East Walk, then back to the end of West Walk and returning to Fisherman's Gap.

Sponsor forms can be obtained by emailing [email protected] or donations can be collected and made on the day, or posted to 3 Belmont Terrace, Causeway, Beer, Devon, EX12 3LE.

Branch secretary Wendy Cummins will also be completing the Mayday Miles challenge, with the aim of walking a mile everyday during the month of May and others are welcome to also take up this challenge.

The branch is also running a Wellington boot colouring competition, with colouring sheets available from the email address or postal address above, or from Pebbles Coffee House in Seaton, or you can design your own.

Entries complete with contact details should be dropped to Pebbles Coffee House by 1.30pm on Sunday, May 21 for judging.

The Seaton, Beer and District branch's RNLI shop at Jubilee Gardens in Beer is now open for the 2023 season.

Volunteers aim to open the shop seven days a week from 10am to 4pm, subject to volunteer availability and weather.

There are still some vacancies on the rota; if you would be interested in volunteering, pop into the shop for more details.

The branch is now looking forward to our Beer Lifeboat Weekend, which will include a street collection and table top sale on Saturday, July 1 and the annual duck race on Sunday, July 2.
