A 10-year-old girl cycled 10 miles to raise more than £1,000 for Seaton & District Hospital League of Friends.
The £1,037.85 raised by Isla Heal will go towards the League of Friends' highly-praised Seaton Hospiscare@Home service, which provide expert nursing and end of life care for those who wish to remain at home.
Isla said: "This year has been very hard for everyone. I really wanted to do something positive and help other people.
"I decided that I wanted to raise money for a charity and chose Seaton Hospiscare@Home because a few years ago they looked after a man that was very special to me.
"They made sure that he was able to stay at home, where he wanted to be, and took great care of him.
"I thought a lot about what I could do to raise money in lockdown, and decided that a bike ride would be good as I love cycling!
"I wanted to make it a challenge though, so as I turn 10 very soon, I thought I could try and cycle 10 miles. The furthest I have done before is six miles!"
The League of Friends recently presented Isla with a certificate for her fundraising efforts.
Lycia Moore, manager at Seaton & District Hospital League of Friends said: "We were so delighted Isla chose to fundraise in aid of our Seaton Hospiscare@Home service and that our nurses were able to care for someone special to her.
"The league would like to thank not only Isla, for completing this 10 mile cycle challenge, but also everyone who kindly sponsored her. Her fundraising event has provided a much-needed boost in our funds for our palliative care service."
