Woman pulled from water at Axmouth harbour dies

Police have confirmed that a woman in her 60s has died after being pulled from the water at Axmouth harbour.

The coastguard, ambulance service, fire brigade, police, and air ambulance all attended the incident on the afternoon of Sunday, July 18.

It was reported that a woman, from Taunton, had been pulled from the water and had been pronounced dead at the scene, which police have now confirmed.

The woman's death is not being treated as suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We were called to Axmouth harbour by the ambulance service at around 1.40pm on Sunday, July 18 with a report a woman had been pulled from the water and had been pronounced deceased at the scene.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner.

"The next-of-kin of the woman, aged in her 60s and from Taunton, have been informed."
