Seaton Gateway – the town's much-loved theatre and arts venue – opened its doors for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic with a vibrant new look on September 7.

The trustees have taken the opportunity over lockdown to secure grants allowing for a total refurbishment of the foyer and toilets, with new staff starting this month to move the theatre forward into an exciting new era of arts, cinema, live streaming, youth theatre and drama productions.

The box office is currently open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11am to 2pm.

First customers through the door have been delighted with the new look and tickets are selling fast for autumn events, including Riviera Dogs on September 18, Andre Rieu on September 25, Romeo and Juliet on September 28 and Follies on October 9.

Full details and ticket sales are also available at www.thegatewayseaton.co.uk

Ticket numbers will be limited to allow COVID measures to be in place.

A spokesperson for The Gateway said: "The fabulous Riviera Dogs on September 18 will be a wonderful live music celebration of reopening and a chance to meet friends old and new.

"In the meantime, you can pop in to the box office to see the changes and say hello.

"We can't wait to welcome you back and celebrate a bright new future for The Gateway and our wonderful supporters."
