Marek Stevens becomes the newest member of Seaton Town Council having been co-opted last week.

Marek moved to Seaton last year having fallen in love with the town and local area.

From a Navy family he grew up in the similar town of Lee-on-the-Solent, in Hampshire, and studied at Sussex University in Brighton.

Since 2014, Marek has also enjoyed the ownership of some ancient woodland near Honiton.

Marek is a fully qualified and practiced English and psychology teacher but has worked in the UK film industry since 2000, becoming a BAFTA voting member in 2004, and working on publicity campaigns for more than 500 movie releases and winning multiple awards.

In his spare time he is a keen tennis player and member of Seaton Tennis Club.

Marek is keen to help improve and promote Seaton any way he can, and he intends to live out his days in the town.

He was unanimously co-opted on to Seaton Town Council to fill a vacancy last week.
