East Devon residents were out to cheer on Olympic medallist Tom Daley as he cycled through the area yesterday (Wednesday) as part of an epic endurance challenge for Comic Relief.
To raise money for this year's Red Nose Day, diving star Tom will be rowing, cycling, running and swimming his way from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford to his hometown of Plymouth.
The 'Hell of a Homecoming' tour saw Tom arrive in East Devon yesterday, coming in from West Dorset on the A35 and turning into Axminster at the Abbeygate junction, then heading through Musbury, Colyford and on to Sidford.
On his way he stopped at the Hunters Lodge in Raymonds Hill, just outside Axminster, for a well-deserved break and some physio treatment, where he was greeted by fans with a banner welcoming him to East Devon.
Supporters also lined the streets in other towns and villages to cheer Tom on.
Tom is due to finish his epic challenge this afternoon in Plymouth. The 'Hell of a Homecoming' tour is being filmed for the BBC for Comic Relief coverage to be shown in March.
