Police, the ambulance and fire crews from Seaton and Colyton were called to a single-vehicle collision in which a van overturned in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).

The incident occurred on Shells Lane, between Colyton and Colyford, and the driver of the van reported the accident, saying he was unable to exit the vehicle after it had turned on its side.

Shortly after arriving and assessing the scene, fire crews set to work stabilising the vehicle, before working alongside ambulance paramedics to safely extricate the casualty through the front windscreen.

Once released, and the scene made safe, the casualty was left in the hands of paramedics and the incident left in the hands of the police.
