Andrew Jarman, Alison Stenning and Rodney Turner have been elected to fill three vacancies on Colyton Parish Council.

Seven candidates stood for the three positions, with Rodney Turner topping the poll with 594 votes, followed by Alison Stenning with 566 and Andrew Jarman with 493.

Other candidates polled as follows: Andrew Mils - 444; Keith Mills - 397; Ian Priestly - 347; and Robert Kenyon - 318.

The turnout was 36.3 per cent and 21 ballot papers were rejected for being unmarked or wholly void for uncertainty.

Both Andrew Jarman and Rodney Turner previously served on the parish council, but were automatically removed in line with standing orders having not attended meetings for six months, creating two vacancies.

The third vacancy arose when Ray Watts resigned.
